Desde 2005, Vincent Rosenblatt dedica noites insones aos bailes funk, mergulhado no corpo-a-corpo com os funkeiros. Rio baile funk tenta preservar a frágil memória desses encontros, retratar a energia, os gestos e os desejos de uma juventude carioca do início do século 21. O funk carioca é uma ostentação de ritmo, rituais, territórios e identidades, e o trabalho é um vai e vem entre tentar dar conta dos movimentos coletivos e dos detalhes individuais: corpos funkeiros como manifestos de liberdade de expressão. Nos últimos anos, enquanto a repressão aos bailes aumentava, uma geração de jovens produtores negros reinventou as noites cariocas. As “festas pretas” - Batekoo, Yolo Love Party e outras - expandiram a revolução funkeira. Nelas, a celebração da identidade e da diversidade, sem discriminação, cria espaços-tempos seguros para viver e para sonhar.
